We're honored and thrilled to participate in Raine Miller's Rare and Precious Things blog tour, hosted by the lovely ladies at The Book Avenue! The Blackstone Affairs series is one of our favorite series. We were hooked from book 1, Naked, when we were introduced to one of the most unfortgettable BBFs - Mr. Ethan Blackstone *swoon.* The man walks on water in our eyes. When we first met him, he was alpha, bossy, foul-mouthed and demanding - yes, he is still all these sexy things but he has also grown into a loving, dedicated and utterly romantic husband to Brynne and their soon-to-be little baby Blackstone (we LOVE the sex and can't wait for you to find out if you haven't already). We love experiencing this beautiful journey with Ethan and Brynne.

Today check out an amazing book trailer and read an interview with Raine Miller - where she answers your questions about her writing process, David Gandy, and publishing. PLUS, enter a HUGE blog tour GIVEAWAY to win an iPad mini, Giftcards, and Signed Paperbacks!

Rare and Precious Things Book Trailer!

Author Interview: Raine Answers Your Questions!

1. When you are in the process of writing, do you have your storyline mapped out
and you do your research of people, places, buildings, scenery, etc. based on
that or have you ever written a scene in any of the books based solely on an
image or picture you've come across and that image/picture spoke to you so
profoundly that you incorporated a storyline into a book based on it?

I’ve written whole scenes because of a picture I’ve seen. An example of this is when
a fan sent me a picture of a man with angel wings tattooed on his back and his
baby sleeping on top. I loved it, so you will see that scene in Rare in Precious
Things with Ethan and his _______. I do it all the time. In fact, the whole
inspiration for the first book, NAKED, was because I found the image on
Shutterstock one night and the idea for the story came into my head. Images are
huge in giving me inspiration to write. I make Pinterest boards now for books
while I am writing.

2. How long from concept to publishing?

Ten Months. I knew as I was finishing Eyes Wide Open that I really needed to do a
fourth book in order to give Ethan and Brynne the complete resolution to their
life together.

3. When you first knew of David Gandy and have you ever met him?

I knew of him over three years ago, and no, I have never met him. He did chat me a
little and send me a birthday wish last year though. He is my muse for Ethan,
and was from the first page I wrote about Mr. Blackstone

4. Out of all your books, which one has been the most challenging to
write?

That would be Rare and Precious Things. It was a challenge because when you are at
the end of a story arc, everything must be resolved and tied together. You have
to have reasons for the character’s behaviors and actions, their motivations
have to make sense. Another difficulty is to give page time to all of the side
characters that have been introduced into the story and the tangled web gets
very big.

5. Living in the UK myself, made this book easier to read, envisioning the places,
characters, Olympics etc, Why choose this place at this time for the books to be
set in?

I am a certifiable Anglophile and I always have been. I really liked the idea of
having an American heroine and a British hero, so the idea of setting up the
story in that way appealed to me. I found out it appealed to many other women
readers too!!! LOL Talking dirty in an English accent is pretty smokin’ hot I
guess.

6. If you could be a character in any fictional book, who would you want to be and
why?

Jane Whitcomb. Because she is loved by Vishous. Read Lover Unbound, by JR Ward if you
have no idea what I am talking about.

7. When you started writing the books, did you have the idea for the historicals
first or Naked?

I wrote the historicals first and knew the world in which they were set. So when I
began writing Naked and Brynne was an art conservationist, I just used my
fictional artist I had already created in my historical novel The Muse, which
has yet to be published. I had so much fun doing the connections I continued to
do it in every book, and will probably do it for every book I write from here on.

Author Bio: Meet the Fabulous Raine Miller!

Picture
Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up
that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A part-time teacher and writer of sexy romance stories every other chance she gets pretty much fills her days. She has a handsome prince of a husband, and two brilliant sons to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. Her sons know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any, thank God! Raine loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books.

A Little Too Far Excerpt: Meet Lexie and Trent

He lifts my legs and loops them over his, rubbing his palm against the grain of the three-day stubble on my calf. “You were together for a long time. You thought you’d be together
forever. It was what you knew, and now you’re out of your comfort zone. It’s
easy to want to go back to the safety net.”

He just so totally hit it on the head. I want the safety net. But the problem is, the safety net
has a huge freaking hole in it now. It’ll dump me on my head if I trust it.

But it still hurts.

“You’re right. I miss the idea of him.”

“It sucks,” he says with a small nod.

I sigh and shift deeper into the pillows. “But what if he was supposed to be The One?”

 “He wasn’t.”

“How do you know?”

His hand pauses on my leg, midstroke. “Because he never deserved you.”

“What if I never find anyone else?”

He stares into my eyes for what has to be a full minute before saying, “You will.”

An electric tingle zings through my insides, and the next thing I know, his lips are pressing
against mine. I don’t even know who made the move.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Kissing Trent is like sticking my toe in the ocean and suddenly being in over my head. I’m
drowning in him. I don’t know whether it’s him or the scotch, but as his tongue
edges my mouth and slips through my lips, desperation like I’ve never felt
before swells inside me. Years of suppressed desire rear up, and, suddenly, I’m
starving for him. The only thing I know for sure is, if I don’t have him right now, I’ll die.

My heart gallops in my chest as I slide down on the bed and pull him down with me.

“Shit, Lexie,” he breathes between kisses. “What are we doing?”

I grab fistfuls of his thick brown curls and pull him to me, smothering the question on his lips
with another kiss.

He doesn’t resist when I pull off his shirt, then mine. He doesn’t try to stop me when I wiggle
out of my shorts and thong and kick them to the floor. He moans deep in his
throat as my fingers trail over his cut abs and pop the button of his jeans. And
when my hand slides in under his waistband and finds his erection, he stops
breathing altogether.

Never during any of it, even once we’re both naked on my bed, does any part of me feel like we shouldn’t be doing this. All of a sudden, he isn’t my stepbrother. He’s everything I’ve ever
needed.

Have you ever gone just a little too far?

Lexie Banks has.

Yep.She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it's more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he's  been her best friend and confidant for the better part of the last few years  and is so off limits. It's a good thing she's leaving in two days for a  year abroad in Rome.

But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can't seem  to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to confession in hopes of  alleviating some of her guilt and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she  stumbles out of the confessional and right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and  very easy-on-the-eyes deacon only eight months away from becoming a priest.  Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro's signals start changing  despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn't know what to think. She's torn between  falling in love with the man she shouldn't want and the man she
can't have. And  she isn't sure how she can live with herself either way.

"I miss my best friend so much,” I add, as a tear rolls over my lashes.
“What we did stole him from me. I want him back.”

A Little Too Much Excerpt: Meet Alessandro and Hillary

I open my eyes and there Alessandro is, his smoldering gaze raking over my body. I raise my arms slowly overhead as I move to the music, giving him an up-close-and-personal look at the girls, daring him to touch me. With this top and no bra, they’re a pretty spectacular
sight, if I do say so myself.

Jess grins and shimmies off to dance with a mixed group near us—probably the people she invited. I recognize a few of them from auditions.

Alessandro leans in and I catch his scent—some tangy, spicy cologne that seems to hardwire my nose to my groin. “That was quite the show,” he says, his voice thick and
rough.

You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

I put on my fuck-me smile and swing my hips to the music. He shocks the hell out of me when he lays his hands on my waist and starts to move with me. I spin in his arms and grasp his wrists, feeling the strength in his forearms. God, he’s got great arms. I glide his
hands over my ass to the bottom edge of my tiny skirt. His hands are sure and
firm against my skin and he doesn’t resist me.

Heat pulses through me as I close my eyes and roll my hips in a circle. I glide his hands slowly up my backside, bringing my short skirt with them and leaving his fingers on bare skin, then
press my backside into him. He doesn’t miss a beat, moving his hips with mine to
the rhythm. I grind a circle against him and damn if he doesn’t play along. For
a guy who was inches from becoming a priest, he’s pretty bold. I loop my arms
behind me, around his neck, and press my whole back into his whole front, and I
swear I feel a low groan in his chest as his head tips back. His hands slide up
my sides and stop on my rib cage below my breasts.

I think my plan might be backfiring, because everywhere he touches me, I’m on fire.

I turn to face him and the look in his eye, hungry and raw, makes my heart beat faster. I run my hands over his strong forearms as his hands glide around me, pulling me tight to his body, one knee sliding between mine. His face is in my hair, his hot breath sending goose
bumps skittering over my skin despite the fact that I feel like we’re standing
five inches from the sun. We dance just like that, plastered against each other,
his hand on my back, his fingers brushing the bare skin at the waist of my
skirt, and I lose track of everything except the pounding of the music and the
heat of his body.

This was a very bad plan.

I wanted him to want me. I wanted to hurt him.

But just as I feel myself starting to question whether I might actually follow through, I feel a rumble in his chest and a low growl escapes his throat. I barely hear it over the deafening
music, but the next second, he’s pushing me away like I’ve burned him. His eyes
are closed and his jaw is ground tight and he just stands there, still as stone
for a few long heartbeats. He doesn’t even breathe.

“I have to go,” he finally grinds out.

“What?” I say, incredulous. “Why?”

He opens his eyes and takes another deep breath before answering. “Because coming here was a mistake.”

A Little Too Hot Excerpt: Meet Harrison and Sam

Harrison’s blue eyes darken in the dim light, his gaze smoldering with barely contained desire. “You were amazing out there tonight,” he says, his voice low and rough around the edges. “The way you move is just so … ” He trails off with a slow shake of his head.

Desire twists tight in my core at the knowledge that this man, who is by far the hottest man I’ve ever known, wants me. Looking at the need on his face and coiled in his body, I
know for sure he wouldn’t go eight months without taking me to bed. That look
makes me feel sexy, and beautiful. It makes me pulse with need and ache in my
most private places. It tells me that he wouldn’t leave me waiting and wanting
for even eight minutes.

I look at him a moment longer, then stand and move to the stereo, cranking up the music; a
slow, haunting piece that I feel in my soul. I let it flow into me, through me,
and when it’s filled me, I turn to face him and start to dance. I lift my arms
over my head and move to the pulsing rhythm. I circle my hips in a slow belly
dance, and his eyes are glued to me, his lips parted slightly, and animal need
dances in his hooded eyes. He rubs a hand down his face and sucks his upper lip
between his teeth when I drop low, and his eyes follow the path of my hands as
I roll back up, my fingertips skimming my calves and inner thighs, finally
settling over the outside of my shorts, with my thumbs hooked under the
 waistband.

The unabashed needin his expression starts an intense throbbing in my groin that I can’t ignore.  So I don’t. As I move to the rhythm, I let one hand continue up my body, over
my bare midriff and my breast, finally twisting into my hair. My hips work the
beat as I straighten my other arm, tugging the waistband of my tiny satin
shorts dangerously low and bringing my fingertips to rest over the sweet spot
at the apex of my thighs. I’m all adrenaline, every sensation heightened, and
want pulsing through my veins like fire as I roll my hips in a slow circle.

Harrison tips his  head back, blowing out a long breath between pursed lips, then stands and
adjusts his jeans around the bulge inside them.

I crook my finger, beckoning him to me. “Dance with me.” It comes out a throaty demand—all sex and desire.

His eyes flare as he stalks closer, stopping a foot away. “I thought there was a three feet rule,” he says, his voice rough.

“I’m modifying it to one foot.” He reaches for my waist, but I back away and shake my head. “Still no touching. Sorry.”

I lift my arms overhead, weaving my fingers loosely into my hair, and start to move again,
letting the music have me but never breaking eye contact with him. He watches
me for a full minute, then starts to move with the rhythm. He’s good—loose and
comfortable in his body. He rolls his hips and I moan a little, knowing just by
that movement that he would be amazing in bed.

God, I want him in my bed.

I’m not usually like this. I mean, I held out for five years for one guy. Since I gave up my V card my sophomore year at a drunken frat party, there’s only been two others,
including my one night with Jonathan. I can’t remember ever lusting this hard for anyone.

I turn my back to him and swing my hips, my ass “accidentally” brushing against the bulge in his jeans.

“Jesus, Sam,” he groans, his voice thick and a little strangled. The raw need in it is such a
total turn-on. “Are you sure I can’t touch you?"

He’s just inches from me, and the feel of his breath in my hair sends goose bumps skittering
over my scalp. The urge to spin and press my body against his is unbearable. I
turn my head so I can see him out of the corner of my eye. And, God, he smells
good—earthy with a musky undertone of sex.

 “Yes,” I whisper.

He leans in, his lips nearly touching my ear. The heat of his mouth, so close to me, ripples
every muscle south of my waist. “Yes, I can touch you?” he purrs. “Or yes, you’re sure I can’t.”

“I’m sure you can’t.” My voice comes out rough, and he groans at the sex in it.

His lips brush my ear as he leans closer. “I’m not sure I’m going to be able to stop
myself.”

I can’t breathe. The air is suddenly too thick. Too charged.

“Sam?” he growls, shifting so he’s against me. “Please say I can.”

Sleep was hard to come by.  As the weeks went on, things between Jack and me had fallen into a routine of evading and comfortable avoidance. He hadn’t pushed for me to move in with him again, or even mentioned it for that matter. He just somehow understood that I needed time to figure out my issues.

I used that time without him. I dug deep and ticked off all the pros and cons and analyzed my reasons for running off after my dad and Vince died, and came to terms with my decision to stay with him as long as I had.

My conclusions weren’t easy to take.

I was a coward and a liar. Simple as that.

Jack had become my cushion; my tiny dilapidated motel room became the fortress that held my demons on the outside. The small town was a Mecca for all the things I thought I was missing out on and wanted in my life.

But it wasn’t. It was as solid of a trap as my previous life had been. I’d fallen into the same pattern, only a different outcome. I’d settled on a dismal job because it was easy, a hole in the wall motel because it was cheap, and a false relationship because it fed my insecurities and my fear of being alone.

I still had no idea where I fit in. I still wondered where I belonged, what I wanted. That mask I’d donned for as long as I could remember was still strapped to my skull, embedded into my skin with a grip so tight I thought I’d suffocate.

Coming to terms with the cold, hard facts was a blow for sure. I knew I would eventually go back to Vegas. It was inevitable. I wasn’t sure I’d stay, but I had to return and deal with the aftermath of what went down. The death of my family, the deceit from Flynn, my business, and most importantly, to face the ghosts that wouldn’t leave my mind.

Doyle Maguire.

That man had to pay, one way or another.

I could just picture that rat bastard sitting on his throne with a big shit-eating grin on his face, satisfied that he’d taken us down.

He had, to an extent. My father withered and died at his hand, he’d chased me off, and taken everything Vince had, including his life.

But, he was in for a surprise. I still had some fight in me. The more I pulled back the curtains and looked out the window of my mind, it was coming back. I was stronger than I gave myself credit for, and running off with my tail between my legs had never been my style. I’d slithered away, snuck off with the excuse of starting over, but in reality, I’d never stood my ground the way I should have.

It was time to bolster the courage to take the jerk to war.

Excerpt:  See Jayne Play

A few hours later, I found myself sitting on the edge of my bed, surrounded by the entire contents of my closet, freaking out.

I had very little red, surprisingly, and I wasn’t sure how my handsome client was going to take it when I showed up disobeying his wishes. He seemed like the type that expected everyone to submit to his whims, especially the people he paid.

My phone vibrated from beside me and I picked it up, seeing it was Vince calling.

“Hello,” I answered.

“What’s taking you so long? The car is sitting outside.”

I got up and peeked out the window, and sure enough, a sleek black town car was parked at the curb, Collins standing beside it.

“Shit,” I huffed. “I’m not ready yet. Give me ten, and I’ll be right down.”

I ended the call and grabbed a silk blouse from my bed, shaking the wrinkles out and slipping it on. It was sheer and red, and I hoped the lacy red bra I wore underneath would appease Flynn. I matched it with a slim skirt and in an effort to make him happy, I slid on a pair of red satin pumps.

I found myself wanting to impress him, and that wasn’t necessarily a good thing. He was a client, not my boyfriend. I resented him for it, and irrationally, I wanted to hate him. At the end of the day, I’d always be what I was, and he’d always be him. We were two different people from very different walks of life. It was ignorant to think otherwise.

I grabbed my purse and flew down the stairs to meet Vince outside. I wanted to get the date over with so I could come home and sulk. Alone.

I opened the door, and was surprised to see Flynn standing on my steps instead of Vince. He looked peeved, and that just set my back tight and defensive.

“It’s past five.”

I pressed my lips together and bit my tongue. I wanted to tell him to go fuck himself, but that was the last thing I needed to do. He’d paid to fuck me, or not fuck me if things went the same direction as the last time we met. So, instead, I took a deep breath, relaxed my hips, and gave him Jayne’s winning smile.

“Beauty takes effort, Mr. Maguire. I wanted to look special. Just for you.”

His eyes danced. He gave me a quick glance, up and down, and then cocked his lips into a small smile.

“You do look beautiful, as always, Miss King.”

He held his arm out for me, and I tucked my hand into his elbow, tightening my grip as he turned to walk down the steps. I could feel the muscles underneath his coat, and the warmth from his body sent shivers up and down my spine.

I looked side to side, hoping to spot Vince. I wanted to make sure our plan was still in place without Flynn catching on.

“Your friend is waiting in his vehicle across the street.”

I laughed nervously. “He’s protective. It’s just a precaution.”

He hummed but didn’t comment. Collins opened the door for us and stepped aside while Flynn helped me inside. Sliding across the leather seats, I noticed right away that Flynn’s scent permeated the space. Delicious and spicy.

He moved in next to me and immediately threw his arm over the back of the leather seat, letting it settle on my shoulder. I moved in closer, enjoying the way it felt to be tucked under his arm.

I liked the way he took charge. It wasn’t so much arrogance as it was confidence. There was something very attractive about a man that knew what he wanted. It was even better when he took it.

Once the car began to move, Flynn turned sideways, facing me. I smiled at him, batted my lashes a bit, and adjusted myself so I could see him better. He was so devastatingly handsome. The line of his jaw was cut so sharp, and the smooth skin of his lips was so inviting.

I’d had my share of handsome men, but there was something so raw about his beauty, something wild. It danced in his eyes and played in his smile. There was darkness underneath, but I could definitely see some tenderness in him.

He was a player, same as me. His game was different, but not by much. He was well known for the high-stakes card games he played, a proud member of the Millionaire’s club. He may have been born into money, but he probably never had to touch it. A night at a table would set him ahead for years.

That was sexy to me. He was smart, a challenge. Pretty boys with brains were hard to come by, and it was refreshing to have someone that I could actually have a conversation with.

“Where are you taking me tonight, handsome?”

I ran my finger over his trouser-covered thigh, watching my fingernail leave a trail of red against the charcoal of the fabric.

“Nowhere.”

I looked up, confused. “Well, it feels like we’re moving, so we have to be on our way somewhere.”

His eyes darted between my eyes and my mouth, and for a brief moment I thought he might kiss me. It thrilled me. I wanted him to touch me in the worst way.

“Take off your shoes.”

I blinked several times, puzzled by his sudden request. His eyes told me there was no questioning his words, so I shifted around so I could do as he asked. As I bent over, I made sure he got a good glimpse of my tits in my low-cut dress, and slowly slid the shoes off my feet and dropped them to the floor.

“I thought you’d appreciated the shoes. They’re red.”

“I do,” he said, smiling. “But I want to touch your feet. Put them in my lap so I can rub them.”

I moved quickly, happy to finally have his hands on me. There were far needier places that I needed him, but having him touch me at all was good enough.

His hands were strong, smooth, and his fingers gave the perfect amount of pressure on the arches of my feet. It felt amazing, and I couldn’t remember the last time a man had touched my feet, if ever.

His eyes were bright as he stared at me. He never missed a beat, rubbing and probing my feet like a professional. I was mesmerized, once again, lost in his eyes like a tamed lion.

“So, tell me, Miss King, do you enjoy being a tease?”

I couldn’t help it—I laughed. “I think you have it all wrong, Mr. Maguire. I only tease if I’m paid to tease. Otherwise, I always deliver.”

He hummed. “Yes, I guess you do. Up.”

He threw my legs off his lap and I scrambled to get up. It was no easy task, being that we were in a limo and all.

“Where do you want me?” I asked. My voice cracked. The look in his eyes told a thousand stories, and I wanted to read them all. I needed to know what he was thinking.

My confidence was failing. Miserably. He left me frustrated and confused. I had to get myself together and take control.

“Everywhere.”

Looking up into his eyes, I gasped. His voice was so soft, I had a feeling he hadn’t wanted me to hear him. I could see there was more to his comment.

I had to turn things around. The fire was burning out and strange emotions were stomping it out, so I got up on my knees and pressed my palms against his chest. “Lean back, Mr. Maguire.”

His lips twitched, but he held back a true smile. He wasn’t used to releasing the control, but I had a feeling he liked it. Wanted it.

I climbed over him once his back was against the cushion of the seat. He was absolute perfection, and that niggling in the back of my head started tugging again. It still made no sense that he was paying me to do what hundreds of women would gladly do for free.

Sacrifice a limb for.

“Tell me, Mr. Maguire,” I purred. “Do you always play hard to get?”

He finally smiled. “Hard to get? I have no intention of playing games.”

“No?”

He shook his head and moved his arms around to grasp my legs, pulling me down against him. “The only thing hard around here is me. That’s what you’re here for.”

My skin pricked with excitement.

“I want you to rub your pussy on me. Make me come.”

His words shot through me like a stiff swig of harsh whiskey. Hearing him say he wanted anything from me was like gasoline. My engine roared to life, and my body was ready to give him everything I had.

The dark, bracing look in his eyes pushed me back into the reality of the situation, but there was no way I was turning my body off.

I would give him what he wanted.

“And I want your tits,” he spat. “Take that off so I can touch them.”

I wiggled out of the top, and began to gyrate on his lap, moaning when I felt his hardened cock press against my heat. I wanted him inside desperately. Like never before, I needed it.

“Just like that, and don’t stop. I want to watch you make me come.”

I rolled my hips, pressing myself down on him and moving back up again. Over and over again I went through the motions while he twisted and pulled at my nipples.

He was enthralled with them, never letting his eyes stray. He groaned, biting his lip as he concentrated on his hands and what they were doing with me, but never moved his hips to match my motions.

“I like this,” he murmured, letting his hand slip down my torso and placing it on my stomach. “So soft.”

My head fell back, my eyes rolling and my jaw slack. I wanted to cry out and beg him to touch me, to push my panties out of the way and thrust his fingers deep inside. It was ridiculous how badly I craved his touch. There was electricity between us, a true and undeniable attraction that was driving me slowly insane.

“You want me to fuck you, don’t you?”

I whimpered and raised my hips before slamming back down on his lap. He was tempting me, playing with my head, and I was glad he’d thrown me a reminder. This was not seduction. I was there to fulfill his needs, and only that. I wasn’t about to let him patronize me into begging for something from him.

“You like fucking all those men, Jayne? Their sweaty bodies pounding into you without knowing who you are?”

My eyes snapped open and then narrowed. Who the hell did he think he was?

“Does it bother you?” When I didn’t answer, he grabbed my hips, dragging his fingers across my hipbone and spreading his palms across my abdomen, barely avoiding my aching pussy underneath.

“I see. It does, doesn’t it?”

I didn’t answer. I merely gritted my teeth and continued rubbing myself harder and harder over his clothed cock. I would get off, damn it. If he wanted to mess in his pants, that was fine with me. I would still walk away with his money, and an orgasm was just a bonus.

I’d take it.

He smirked, and I’d finally had enough. Rich, handsome, it didn’t matter. It didn’t matter that I indeed wanted him to fuck me, and badly, but I was no one’s bitch.

Excerpt Two: See Jayne Play

A few hours later, I’d spent way more money than I’d intended and hurried home to get ready to meet Flynn. Since he wanted to meet me at the club, I chose a slinky little number and a hot pair of heels. Red. All red, of course.

Thankfully, red was a great color for me. I had natural auburn highlights in my hair, so the rich color looked good against my pale skin and dark hair. Lord knew I was happy he wasn’t into yellow or something equally disgusting.

I was running late after spending so long at the mall, so I gathered my things and sped out of the house as quickly as possible. There was a ton of traffic, typical for a Friday night, but my little race car easily swept in and out of it like a pro.

I pulled into the valet, once again greeted by a handsome young man, eager to help me out of my car.

I liked practicing on them. Putting on the Jayne mask was never a difficult task, but when men looked at me the way they did, I remembered who I was and what I was about to do. So, I gave them my smiles, put a wag in my step, and pushed forward through the casino toward Flynn.

The place was bustling with laughter and people milling around at every turn. I was confident and sure as I walked past them, knowing that every head turned my way. My heels tapped against the marble floors and then silenced as I hit the plush carpet that led to the nightclub.

It, too, was remarkable. Everything about The Maguire was lush. It reminded me that Flynn was so unbelievably different than I was. He’d grown up in excess, where I’d only had a taste of it, and it was usually while I was on my back. I had to admit that I enjoyed the high life. I craved it. Bits and pieces of it were introduced to me as a child, but as quick as we had them, they were gone again. That was the way it was, and so I learned not to get too attached to things—or people.

A hostess with a shiny uniform and a delightful smile met me at the entrance of the club, and I told her who I was and who I was there to meet. She gave me a strange smile and then had me follow her toward the back of the room. The lights were flashing, the music blaring, and not unlike most nightclubs, patrons were dancing and grinding and drinking. I’d always hated that scene. In my youth, it was all I had. My escape. I drank too much, fucked too much, and played too much. It was insane that at twenty-five, I already felt old and over it all.

As we moved closer to a table tucked away in the corner, I craned my head, looking for Flynn. I wanted a few moments to take him in before I sat down. He truly overwhelmed me, and I wanted my wits about me once I was sitting with him.

But, instead, she led me to a table hidden from the rest, and Flynn was not alone.

The blonde he’d had with him at the poker party sat next to him, her tits spilling out of her tacky halter top and her pink painted claws all over him. When he looked up and saw me, his smile was wide and mischievous. My skin positively burned. My hand was begging to smack the shit out of him and his smug, evil smile.

He was playing with me once again, and instantly my instincts went into overdrive. He may have had the looks and the money, but that man had no idea who he was messing with.

“Hey, Flynn,” I purred. “I’m glad you called.”

I set my bag on the table and slid myself into the booth, pushing as close to him as possible. He couldn’t take his eyes off me, and I knew he was dying to get a better look at me in the dress. He could play games with me all he wanted, but I knew his weakness—it was me, and it was me in red.

“Excuse me, bitch, but we’re having dinner here,” Blondie snapped, glaring at me and then looking at Flynn. “Tell her we’re busy, baby.”

He said nothing to her, and as badly as I wanted to throw a fit and walk the fuck out, I stayed in character, held my shoulders firm, and smiled as sweetly as I could.

“You’ve been ignoring my calls.”

I gave him a small pout and leaned forward. “I’m sorry, but I’ve been a busy girl. I’m here now, aren’t I?” I then looked at his other guest and sighed. “It doesn’t look like you’ve been lonely, though, sweetheart.”

His eyes darkened. “You ran out, and your friend was giving me the fucking runaround.”

God, he was such a spoiled brat. He was obviously finding kicks somewhere, which honestly didn’t make me happy in the least, but who was I to question his choices? Who was I to be jealous of the girl? No one. That’s who.

“Flynn,” she whined.

I stopped myself from rolling my eyes and shifted so I was facing him in the booth. He was wearing a fitted black t-shirt, and it was the first time I’d seen him so casual. It looked good on him, made him look more human. The man could wear the hell out of a suit, but it was so pretentious and stuffy. The t-shirt made him look more his age.

“Where were you?”

I smirked. “Worried about me, handsome? You shouldn’t be. I take care of myself.”

His nostrils flared. “Jayne, I called. I needed to see you, and I was told you were unavailable.”

I nodded slowly, like you would when you were trying to get your point across to a small child. “I was unavailable. I told you. I’ve been very busy.”

He sat back and grinned again, and his little honey snuggled into his side, wrapping her hands around his bicep. And then he ignored me. Completely ignored me for the next ninety minutes. He took his girl on the dance floor, brought her back to the table and made out with her, ignored me some more, drank like a fish, and totally pissed me right the fuck off.

I tried to roll with it for a while. It was money, plain and simple. If he wanted to pay me five grand to sit and chaperone his date with possibly the stupidest girl on the planet, I was more than willing, but it started eating at me, that familiar pang of jealousy I got where he was concerned. I wanted to shove it all away, I wanted not to care, but he was under my skin. I was interested, I was intrigued, and God help me, I was attracted to him.

Even when he was acting like the biggest jackass in the world.

Then I finally figured it out. He was pissed off. He was proving a point. Somehow, I’d insulted him, bruised his ego, so he was going to make damn sure I read him loud and clear. He could get and have anything he wanted. He’d wanted me, and I’d declined. He wanted me to know he could replace me, and he had.

Funny thing was, he just didn’t understand that I wasn’t his to play with. He was mine. I was using him to pay a debt, using my body to lure him in, and eventually he’d figure out that the joke was on him the whole time.

Finally, I’d had enough. It was going on eleven o’clock, and my two hours was officially up. Aside of that fact, his friend was fumbling around trying to give him a hand job under the table, and I’d had enough.

“Well, Mr. Maguire, I’m afraid it’s time for me to call it a night.”

I downed the rest of my watered down whiskey sour and slid the glass to the end of the table. When I looked up, his eyes were fuming.

“I don’t think so,” he said calmly.

I gave him an indulgent smile and touched his forearm with my fingertips. My eyes never left his, and as lost as I was in them, I didn’t drop the act.

“It was a lot of fun, sweetheart. As always. But, I have other obligations, and our time is up.” I let my finger draw a figure eight along the muscles of his triceps and lowered my voice. “You just give me a call if you’d like to visit with me again.”

I pushed away and slid myself through the booth, making to stand up.

“Finally she gets the hint,” the tragic blonde huffed.

I shuffled my bag over my shoulder and leaned across the table, both palms firm against the wooden surface and my face close enough that she could feel my breath.

“Darlin’, I think it’s about time you get the hint. That pathetic attempt at a hand job you just gave him is what he paid me for, so once you figure that out, I’m sure you’ll understand why I feel fucking sorry for you.”

I let my eyes slide to Flynn, narrowing them when I saw the smirk on his face. I scowled. “Good to know you can at least get it up. I was worried you had a lift issue. Now I know you just have issues, period,” I hissed. I slammed my hand on the table, smiled a smile full of teeth and glossy red lips, and walked the fuck out of The Maguire.

Again.

Excerpt:  Meet Shane & Crystal

It’s release day! And I’m so excited to share Hard As You Can, the second book in the Hard Ink series, with all of you here today! Hard As You Can follows the surviving members of a disgraced Army Special Forces team as they fight to regain their stolen honor, and finds their investigation crossing paths with a waitress willing to do whatever it takes to stay alive and protect her younger sister. For Shane McCallan, saving Crystal Dean is a mission he refuses to turn down.

Today, I’ve got a super sexy scene to share with you, one that was a total surprise to me as I was writing it! I hope you enjoy this peek at the first time Shane and Crystal find themselves alone with each other:

“Do you like to dance, Crystal?” Shane asked in a low voice.

“Uh, what? Why?”

His smile was crooked, playful. “ ’Cause dancing’s something people do when they’re getting to know each other.”

“Really?” Maybe where he was from. Then again, she worked in a strip club. Dancing was something people did to make money. So, okay, maybe her view of dancing was a bit jaded.

“Absolutely. Ask anybody.” The song faded away, followed by the announcement of a Southern rock station’s call sign. A new song started, and Shane turned to her with a smile. “Dance with me.”

Crystal peered up at him without the slightest idea how to respond. Because her body was saying hell, yes!, while her brain was screaming bad idea, really, really bad idea.

He stepped closer, arms raised, expression full of all kinds of invitation.

The next thing she knew, her right hand was in his and her left had slipped around his neck. Ohmigod, ohmigod, ohmigod, ran over and over in her mind. What am I doing? But then he tucked her hand against his chest and tugged her against him with the hand that settled at her lower back. And the closeness stole her breath.

He moved them to the beat of the song, a slow, sexy, bluesy number she didn’t know but would never forget. Some songs carried memories like the images were imprinted upon the very lyrics themselves, and she had no doubt this would be one of them.

All of a sudden, the air in the room felt ten degrees warmer. As they swayed to the beat, Shane’s body pressed against hers from thighs to chest. With every step and move and turn, Crystal’s breasts rubbed against the hard plane of his chest. Strong hands held and guided her body, making her want to feel them explore her everywhere. Arousal rose like a waking dragon inside her. Cautious. Curious. Dangerous.

This was wrong and stupid on so many levels. But, scary as it was, it felt so freaking good that she couldn’t force herself to pull away. One song. It’s just a dance. Just a dance just a dance just a dance.

And, holy crap, she wasn’t the only one aroused.

Against her belly, Shane hardened.

Crystal sucked in a breath, and he pressed his lips close to her ear. “We’re just dancing here. That’s all. I promise,” he said. But the adrenaline was already in her blood, setting her to a trembling she couldn’t control. Part curious interest and part instinctive fear. “Sshh,” he almost cooed. “Just dancing.”

The echo of her own thoughts from a moment before allowed her to draw a breath that almost calmed. They turned and swayed to the music, moving closer, pressing tighter, Shane’s lips so close to her face that she could feel his breath shudder across her cheekbone.

He was a fire she had no business playing with. She knew that even as she leaned her face against his . . . and got exactly what she’d hoped for.

He kissed her.

Just a brush of his lips against her cheek, but a kiss all the same.

And as much as it made her head spin, it was the little catch of breath in the back of his throat that sent a jolt of electricity down her spine to settle low in her belly. Light as a feather, he caressed her cheek, her temple, her ear with his lips. With him, always such gentleness, so different from almost every other sexual experience she’d ever had. It made her feel safe to allow this to continue.

Between them, his erection was firm, long, totally unyielding.

She shivered, caught between interest and fear, desire a river moving faster and faster inside her. The whole experience was a revelation—that her body had the capacity to respond this way, that a person existed who could pull these reactions from her.

For a moment, she gave herself over to the dizzying sensations. In her mind’s eye, she saw them undressing, fumbling their way back the hall, falling naked and wanting on the bed. What would it be like, just once, to take something that she wanted without worrying about anyone else, without being afraid? Just one wild, secret night, all for her? What would Shane be like?

Q&A WITH LAURA KAYE

HARD AS YOU CAN is your second book in the “Hard Ink” series (after USA Today bestseller, HARD AS IT GETS). What can readers look forward to?

Readers can look forward to tons of sexy alpha male goodness, awesome bromance between the Hard Ink men, more antics from the Hard Ink puppy, and another great love story between Shane and Crystal. But readers should also be ready for a book that is darker, more intense, and more emotional. This book pushed me to emotional places that were tough as a writer, and might be tough for readers, too. But I think that just makes the payoff at the end so much sweeter!

Describe Shane and Crystal. What are their best traits? What are their weaknesses?

Shane and Crystal are such an amazing couple to me. They’re each exactly what the other needs. Shane’s best traits are his protectiveness, his fundamental kindness, and his soul-deep loyalty (his southern accent and humor are also right up there!). His biggest weakness for sure is a tragedy from the past for which he blames himself—and it’s something that continues to motivate him in Hard As You Can. Crystal’s best traits are her courage, protectiveness, and selflessness—she’s willing to do anything to keep her younger sister safe. Her biggest weakness is also that selflessness, because the sacrifices she’s required to make are getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

If you could describe your book in a 140 character tweet, what would it be?

When a woman in trouble assists an ex-soldier's covert mission to regain his team's stolen honor, he finds a new mission to save her, too

What are you most excited about with this second book release?

I’m really excited to take readers deeper into these awesome characters and into the mystery behind the Hard Ink team’s ambush and discharge!

What books are you reading right now?

I’m almost done with Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander (yes, I’m very late to the party but OMG JAMIE FRASER!!!). And I’ve recently devoured and loved Juliana Stone’s Offsides and Shelly Thacker’s time-travel historical romance, Forever His.

What can fans of your “Hard Ink” series look forward to next?

There will be two more Hard Ink books in 2014!

Hard to Hold on To – August 2014

Hard to Come By – November 2014

Creating Character Chemistry

One of the worst things about reading a story is feeling like the author is telling you to "see" this chemistry between the characters, but you're not "feeling" it.  If I, as a writer, do my job right, I don't need to tell you to "see" anything because you are right there with me, a fly on the wall, to the scene unfolding. If I do a really good job, you are dying to jump off the wall and land right in the middle of the action. You want to beg Character A not to say that, you're flipping out that you can't slap Character B and tell them, "Don't you really see what is going on?" and you want to push Character C out of that bed, because that bitch doesn't deserve character D and YOU do!

To be able to create strong chemistry between characters it is essential to start by creating strong characterization. Who is the male (or female) lead (besides this hot looking guy)?  Building a multi-dimensional character means that I have to know everything about him - his quirks, the way he'll respond to a situation (and why? What in his history shapes his reactions now?), what drives him, what shuts him down? If I don't know these things, and can't off the cuff tell you anecdotal stories about him, how can I accurately paint the portrait for you and expect you to feel the character's personal chemistry?

Fully-fleshed out characters provide rich opportunity in their interaction with other characters and that is where the chemistry begins to boil and explode - and become tangible to the reader. When this happens, a new entity is formed that takes on a life of its own. For instance, in the Needing Moore Series, Seth and Mia's chemistry as BFF's is very rich and can be witnessed through their sibling-like banter and in the little ways that they take care of one another. The reader knows that the interaction they are witnessing is uniquely Seth & Mia's - their chemistry is their trademark.

Chemistry between characters should be unique to the individuals involved and is created in the details. Sometimes, as a reader, you have to look very closely for the minute elements brought by each character that create their combustible chemistry, but if we, as authors do our jobs right, the chemistry will always be undeniable.

But is their love really strong enough to overcome the damage of those missing 24 years or will they continue to be ripped apart by pasts that can't be changed?

THE MUSIC OF THE NEEDING MOORE SERIES

Readers of the Needing Moore Series learn early on of my love for music and how music influences the characters in my books.  In Searching for Moore, Schooner and Mia fall in love while working on a project for a class about American Popular Culture and music. They spend  a month with their friends, Henry and Rosie, debating music and its influence on culture.

Like many writers, I write with music and certain songs evoke a character or scene in the book.  I'd like to share with you some of the songs that influenced the first two books in the series and really became my personal writing soundtrack for the entire series.

Searching for Moore

Scene:  It's about 2 weeks into freshman year and there is a freshman retreat in the mountains. Sixteen year old Mia is feeling very far away from home (NYC) and doesn't want to be part of the activities. She takes off hiking in the woods and meets up with Schooner Moore (who she hung out with during freshman orientation) and his roommate, Beau.  They smoke a joint together in the woods and then go their separate ways. Later, Schooner's girlfriend, CJ, sees Schooner paying attention to Mia and  CJ decides to torture Mia on the long bus ride back to campus by sitting behind her and talking loudly to her girlfriend's about how into her Schooner is.  Mia knows that CJ is putting on the show for her benefit.

The Song:  The song playing in Mia's head is In the Flesh off of Blondie's first album.

Went walking one day on the Lower East Side,

Met you with your girlfriend

You were divine

She said, "Hands off this one, Sweetie

This boy is mine"

I couldn't resist you, I'm not deaf, dumb and blind

Scene: Mia, Schooner, Henry and Rosie go up to the mountains and have a fun day playing in a field with fresh fallen snow. They have a raucous snowball fight and it's the first time Schooner and Mia's flirtation becomes somewhat physical when he pulls her into his arms.  Mia thinks Schooner is going to kiss her, but he doesn't, making her wonder if this "flirtation" is really all in her head.

The Song: With Arms Outstretched by Rilo Kiley.  The song talks about going up into the mountains and about a day at a lake that goes by too fast. This upbeat song is the perfect soundtrack for the snowball fight.

The Scene: Mia's first days at her new school in Moore to Lose.  Lost and heartbroken.  Hating Schooner. Loving Schooner. Missing Schooner. Lost & Broken.

The Song: Wake Up Alone by Amy Winehouse. 'Nuff said.

The Scene:  Same timeframe as the scene above, except for Schooner, when Mia doesn't return to school in the fall and all his prayers from over the summer go unanswered. With his tennis career (and his hand) shattered,  he takes to the track nightly (black wool hat Mia gave him pulled down to his eyes) with his Walkman (it was the 80's).

The Song: An obscure Beach Boys song called Girl Don't Tell Me.

The Scene:  A heartbroken Schooner running the track every night during the beginning of his sophomore year. Black wool cap pulled down to his eyes. Walkmen on (yes, there were Walkmen back then), playing the song over and over again about the girl he thought that loved him and totally blew him off.  Hours of exercise in an attempt to exorcise the ghosts of two very precious things: Mia Silver and his tennis career.

The Song: The Whole of the Moon by The Waterboys

No scene in particular ... just the yin and the yang of  Schooner & Mia.  "I saw the crescent, but you saw the whole of the moon."  The lyric, "You came like comet , Blazing your trail , Too high, Too far, Too soon."  That, to me, is an apt description of a 16 year old Mia ... too high ... too far ... too soon.  Even with her advanced maturity level, Mia is so far over her head that dealing with love, betrayal and tragedy become too much for her.  She has not learned how to employ the coping strategies to deal with these things and she runs.

Moore to Lose

The Song: As Time Goes By from the film, Casablanca

The Scene:  New Year's Eve 1999. The theme of the Millennium Party was Casablanca.  Surrounded by WWII era Café Society motif and Big Band tunes, Michael and Mia share a moment.  Here's looking at you, Kid.

The Song: Missing You by John Waite

The Scene:  Mia in denial. Sitting on the floor of her door room, knees hugged to her chest, listening to songs over and over again.  Her heart breaking "down the long distance line tonight" when she reaches out and calls Schooner and Beau tells her the lie that he's left for the night with CJ (Schooner's running on the track and wondering why Mia left him).

The Song: I'm Gonna Find Another You by John Mayer

The Scene: Although this song is about a guy telling a girl that he's going to find someone else, I think of this as Mia letting Tom into her life and trying to let go of the memory and pain of Schooner.

The Song: The Mess We're In by PJ Harvey

The Scene:  Evokes the desolation and desperation of 9/11 for me.  I can see the smoke hazed city sky in this one.

The Song: I Saw the Light by Todd Rundgren

The Scene: Actually from Searching for Moore.  Mia opens her apartment door for the first time to Schooner and immediately wraps her arms tightly around his waist.  "And I ran out before. But I won't do it anymore. Can't you see the light in my eyes."   This is the second chance.  And they are both going to hold on tight.

The G-Man Series

Diamond Girl
G-Man Book One

Picture
Thirty-five year old Samantha Dennison sends her only child off to college and finds herself generally feeling F-R-U-M-P-Y and lost. Her loveless marriage to 'the mannequin' has become intolerable; her daughter and best friend have both advised 'Sammie' to get a life of her own. Her husband has his own agenda which does not include her.

Sammie finally heeds their advice and takes pole-dancing lessons to get into shape and develop self-esteem, but it serves to do much more than that! The thrill of the dance and sexuality she discovers within herself is a potent mixture. She gets a part-time job as a dancer in an Indianapolis Gentleman's Club called Jewels. She becomes the dancer known as 'Diamond' and very quickly catches the attention of a 'bad-boy' biker named 'Slate.'

Slate is the ultimate 'alpha' male; however there's a problem: he simply wants it to be about exclusive sex; Sammie wants and needs more from Slate. Sammie's certain she's embarked on a dangerous relationship with the hot biker and 'prospect' member of the notorious Outlaw Motorcycle Club. She soon finds out she's totally out of her league with Slate and the dangerous people he associates with in Indianapolis. Something big is brewing in Indy; and it's not about race cars!

'Diamond Girl' will keep the reader on the edge of their seat from beginning to end; this book has it all: passion, erotica, romance, danger and possibly more... much more.

Amazon |Barnes & Noble

I turned to see who had come up to the table. I gazed up into the very intense blue eyes of one of the bikers. He was tall and muscular; his thick, dark hair hit the collar of his leather jacket. His face was rugged, yet young. He was gorgeous. I pulled it back to my side; instantly aware of those magnificent blue eyes on me, taking a long, leisurely look as if he was checking for damage. I felt my face flush. I quickly looked up into those smoldering blue eyes and saw his mouth twitch into a slow smile. (God he was hot!) “Any time, Diamond,” he replied, giving me a sexy smile. He turned going back to his group. I watched as he sauntered away, totally mesmerized by his powerful presence. That was the only way that I could describe it. There was a sense of power he exuded; and it was sexy; damn sexy.  - Diamond Girl, Andrea Smith

G-Man Book Two

Chapter 19
I hollered out to Slate around 10:30 p.m. that I was going out with Darcy for a while.  He responded with the obligatory, “Okay, be careful.”

I'd hurried out the door before he had a chance to see what I was wearing.  I'd taken a luxurious bubble bath after making the arrangements with Taz. I'd then invaded mom’s spare closet upstairs that held all of the clothes she'd moved from Indy that were either mine or hers. We hadn’t gone through them yet.

I was delighted when I found what I was looking for. It was a dark maroon and navy plaid skirt with pleats in the front. I'd purchased it a couple of years ago when Daddy had taken me to Chicago on one of his trips.

I pulled the dark maroon pullover sweater out of the closet that went with it. I dug through
the box marked “Misc Lindsey’s Room” on the floor of the closet. I dug through the box finding all sorts of tee shirts, socks.

I even found Robespierre, my cherished stuffed poodle that Daddy had brought home for
me from Paris. He'd been there on business for a couple of weeks when I was nine or ten years old.

I'd slept with that stuffed animal from the time he gave it to me until I went off to college.
I cuddled it to me thinking it was the closest bond I had with my father these days. I left it out. It belonged on my bed back at the apartment.

I continued rooting through the box and finally located the pair of maroon tights I'd worn
with the ensemble. Perfect. I took the tights along with Robespierre back to my room. I dressed in the outfit, making sure that I put sexy underwear on underneath. I put a pair of
short, black leather boots on with it.

I'd been letting my hair grow out. It still had a ton of layers so I gathered the hair at the
crown which was now long enough to pull up into a little ponytail sprout. I brushed a thin layer of  bangs down on my forehead.

I'd applied some eye make-up and blush. I looked wholesome. I looked like some parochial
school girl up to no good which was kind of close to the truth given my lack of experience.

I drove the twenty minutes to Taz’s place, feeling excited and anxious at the same time.
I was curious as to what our second lesson would entail. At any rate, I was sure it would be pure pleasure.

I reached his porch. He'd left the porch light on for me. I pressed his doorbell and in a
matter of seconds he opened the door. His eyes immediately perused the whole length of me and I could see he was a bit puzzled by my appearance.

“I’m here for my lesson, Professor Matthews.”

He totally got it then. He knew I was role-playing and a slow grin spread across his face. I

knew he was in to it.

He opened the door for me. “Come in, Ms. Dennison,” he replied. “Right on time. I like
that.”

He helped me off with my jacket, tossing it over on the sofa.

“May I offer you some refreshments before our lesson begins?”

“I wouldn’t be opposed to a glass of wine, Professor.”

“Have a seat,” he gestured. “I’ll be right back.”

I took a seat on his sofa, crossing my legs and pulling my skirt down as much as I could with
its short length to ensure I was prim and proper. I clasped my hands in my lap. He returned momentarily with two glasses of wine. I accepted the glass he offered,  murmuring my thanks. He took a seat next to me. He raised his glass of wine up, tapping mine.

“Here’s to continuing education,” he said softly, giving me a dazzling, sexy smile.

“Cheers,” I replied.

We both sipped our wine in silence. His arm had moved over to rest against my shoulder,
pulling me closer to him. It felt so good to have Taz wrapped around me.

I leaned in against him loving the warmth of the wine and the headiness of being close. He
gently took my glass from me, setting it on the coffee table. He was silent as he took me by the hand and led me to his bedroom.

He'd lit the aromatherapy candles. The musky scent of them permeated the room. The soft
music was sensual as was everything else he'd arranged.

He pulled me to him and lowered his mouth to my lips, his tongue tracing the top and bottom, then parting them to allow his tongue to explore. I melted into him, my tongue now dancing with his in perfect rhythm.

“Umm,” I said, “It’s a good thing we both had garlic this evening."

Taz pulled back and laughed. “I was thinking the very same thing. I gargled like three times.”

“Me too,” I admitted. “Let’s proceed with my lesson, Professor.”

“Of course, Ms. Dennison. First we need some erotic visuals. I need something to make my
cock stand on end. I want you to undress for me, but I want you to take your time in doing so. Any questions?”

“I understand,” I replied, kicking my boots off first.

Taz reclined on his elbows lying across his bed watching me. He was wearing a pair of grey
drawstring sweats and a wife beater tee. His muscles were bulging as his weight was supported by his arms. It was hot.

My fingers lifted the bottom of the sweater, pulling it slowly up and over my head. I let it
drop to the floor. I then unzipped the side zipper of my skirt, and shimmied it down over my hips were it fell into a heap on my feet. I stepped out of it, kicking it aside.

I hooked both thumbs into the waistband of my tights and lowered them down, praying
my thong wouldn’t go with them and kill the erotic mood. It didn’t. I stepped out of my tights now standing before him in my black lacy push-up bra, and matching thong.

“More?” I questioned.

“Take your bra off first,” he instructed.

It was a front closure so I unhooked the clasp, shrugging free of it.

“Very nice,” he said softly. “Now I want you to take your hands and very slowly, very gently,

I want you to massage your breasts. I want you to bring your nipples to erection without touching them. Do you understand?”

“Yes,” I replied.

I cupped my breasts with my hands, moving them slowly around underneath, allowing my
thumbs to massage each side in a circular motion. My fingers then massaged the front parts, beneath the nipples firmly and methodically. My nipples grew taught and erect.

“Very good,” he said. “Now you may touch and play with your nipples.”

I did as instructed, noting the very nice tingling sensation my own fingers were causing. I
rolled each nipple between my thumb and forefinger, drawing it out.

Taz had one leg bent on the bed, his forearm resting on his knee. His other leg was stretched
out. I could see the stiff erection he had going.

“I want you to lower your panties down and off,”  he instructed huskily.

Once again, I did as I was told, stepping out of them, standing totally naked to his
smoldering gaze.

“Put your fingers in your mouth and get them nice and wet.”  I complied.

“Now, take your fingers and spread the lips of your pussy apart. That’s right,” he said,
watching me closely. “Ply the folds with your fingers and lightly rub the hood over your clitoris.” I did as he said; feeling little sparks of pleasure unfold.

“Does that feel good?” he asked.

“Oh, yes,” I answered truthfully.

“That’s a good girl,” he soothed.

“Don’t stop what you’re doing with your right hand, Ms. Dennison, but with your left hand,
I want you to put your thumb in your bellybutton."

Huh? Is he serious?

I hesitated, hoping like hell this wasn’t some sort of joke he was playing.

“Trust me,” he said, sensing my reluctance. “I want to show you something.”
I placed my left thumb in my bellybutton.

Now what?

“Take you index finger on that same hand, and where the fingertip lands, I want you to press
in, not with the fingernail, but with the pad on the tip of your finger every quarter inch or so above your pubic area. It might take several attempts, but keeping pressing that area until you press a spot that makes you feel like you have to pee.”

I did as he bade, pressing the pad of my finger in several areas back and forth above my
pubic area. I finally put a bit more pressure into the push and on the third spot I pressed, bingo!

“Right here,” I said, my eyes widening.

“That's your G-Spot, Ms. Dennison.”

I was thrilled to know that I had one, though I suspected those times Taz had touched this
very area inside, first with his finger, and then with his cock was all of the verification I needed.

“Now,” he continued, “I want you to insert the finger of your right hand, while pressing on
the outside with your left finger so that you can see what it feels like internally yourself.”

“Really?”

“Yes,” he said firmly. “You need to know how to please yourself first and foremost. Rather
than standing, it's much easier if you come over here and take a position on the bed.”

I walked over and climbed in bed beside him.

Taz lost his sweats and tee shirt in two seconds flat. He stretched out on his side right next
to me. I was lying on my back. He leaned over and brought my legs up so my knees were bent.

“I think this is probably the best position. Let me help getting you lubricated if you have no
objections.”

I smiled up at him.

“No objection whatsoever,” I said.

He leaned down and his mouth was immediately on the lips of my pussy. He softly kissed
the area with his lips; his tongue gently traced the folds and swirled around my clitoris.

Oh my God!

His mouth and tongue expertly worked my pussy inside and out, just as he'd done that first
time. I felt my hips move provocatively in response to what he was doing. I just wanted him to do me: his mouth, his cock, I cared not which, but I wanted it to be him, not me. Taz, I mean Professor Matthews, had other plans.

“There,” he said, “I think you're well on your way. I want you to do as I instructed and bring
yourself to orgasm while I watch.”

He sat back on his haunches, his humungous hard-on just within reach. How was he able
to stop like that? I resumed my finger pressing of the external G-Spot area while inserting my index finger inside. I didn’t like the way it felt in there.

Yuck!

I had no issues whatsoever with masturbating my clitoris to climax, but going up inside all of
that didn't appeal to me. It reminded me of searching inside the cavity of a thawed Butterball turkey, groping around for that freaking bag that contains the neck and gizzards, which invariably was at the ass end of the turkey.

I looked at Taz with my best ‘Do I have to?’ look.

Professor Matthews wasn’t giving me an inch; or should I say at least eight of them at the
moment.

“You’re going to need two fingers,” he advised flatly.

I grudgingly inserted my middle finger to join my forefinger in this elusive search.

“Relax,” he ordered softly. “Keep pressing on the outside intermittently while the two
fingers inside make a motion like this.”

He held two fingers up and made the ‘come here’ motion. I knew that was it! That’s why I'd
coined it his “come hither” move.

I did as instructed, relaxing back and watching him. The fact that he was totally turned on by
this started turning me on. I relaxed even more and let my fingers do the walking.

It was no longer grossing me out. My body was responding to my own touch. I was starting
to feel pleasure seep in around my fingers. The G-spot was now evident to me from the inside. It was a small raised area. It felt like it had tiny ridges.

Wow!

I continued my “come hither” move while now firmly pressing my fingers in a circular
motion on the same area outside. This was feeling freaking great as my tongue traced my lower lip.My hips were now moving in a circular motion with my hands. I moaned softly.

“That’s it, baby,” Taz said. I looked over at him beneath my lashes.

His hand was firmly braced around his erection, moving up and down on it, matching my
own rhythm. I knew that I was ready. I wasn’t sure about him. I increased the tempo of my fingers, and now writhed in pleasure as my orgasm peaked.

I moaned loudly, as I felt my insides pulsate with the release. The warm, clear, liquid spilled
out of me onto my hand as I shook with the spasms of my self-induced climax.

I immediately sat up, pushing Taz back. I was going to bring his orgasm to me. I knelt beside
him, pushing his hand away as I lowered my mouth to his very large, much engorged cock. I was determined I wasn’t going to do this wrong.

I looked up at his face.

“Trace the length of it with your tongue, baby.”

I did as instructed, allowing my fingers to ply the skin of his scrotum very gently.

“Umm, that’s good,” he said, “Now swirl around it like you would an ice cream cone.”

I did as instructed.

Soon, I didn’t need instructions any longer. I could tell by Taz’s body language and dirty
language what he liked. I spread his legs apart, crawling between them facing him. His one arm was crooked underneath his head so that he could watch. I continued tongue swirling and licking the length of his cock.

“I want you to take it all now,” he said.

My hands guided his erection into my mouth, gently pulling it in and out while my fingers
massaged it. I went up and down on it, allowing my teeth to gently scrape against it from time to time.

“Oh God, baby,” he rasped. “You better stop. Finish me with your hands.”

There was no way. I wanted to taste him. I continued on, ignoring his words. I felt the
throbbing first. I continued with what I was doing and then it stilled. Seconds later I felt my mouth filled with the warm, salty cum. I swallowed and swallowed until there was no more.

Taz’s hands were in my hair, twisting it as he moaned with the release. He pulled me by the
shoulders up on top of him. We kissed like savages. It was surreal.

I lay there on top of him perfectly content. His hands were on my back. His fingers were
gently tracing a circular pattern on my skin. I finally perched my head on my hand looking into his now very green eyes.

“Well, Professor, how did I do?”

“Excellent performance, Ms. Dennison. Would you care to stick around for some extra
credit?”

“Baby,” he said on a rough whisper, "I want to fuck you in the worst way possible. I’d never seen Darcy so excited. She’d been walking around with this contagious smile for weeks, her eyes lighting up brighter than Christmas lights. Her shopping had been of epic proportions - which says a lot because my wife could shop. Then there had been the constant phone conversations back and forth between her and Eli about what constituted a 'must have' wardrobe for the cruise, both of them making lists on what to pack for any possible event. She had then phoned Ronnie and Lindsey to make sure they were clued in to save them the embarrassment of a 'fashion faux pas' was how she had explained it to me. - Holiday Wrap, Andrea Smith

Meet Elle & Nico

Elle on Nico
I’ve never seen a body like his so close before.  It  just doesn’t seem real.  Both of his arms are covered in tattoos, it looks like he’s wearing colorful sleeves, only he has no shirt on.  They intertwine and wrap around his bulging biceps and I get the urge to trace a path from the first splat of ink to the last with my tongue.  My body’s reaction to him is unlike anything I’ve ever felt before.  These aren’t feelings that I’m used to, they seem to come out of nowhere and are uncontrollable.

One side of his lip curls up slightly, as though he is amused at my staring.  He hands me a glass of wine without asking if I want one and I take it because I need it to calm my nerves.  I’m here staring at this bigger than life man, and suddenly I’m speechless.  The wine can’t seep into my bloodstream quick enough.  Half the glass is gone in one long, unladylike gulp.

“Thirsty?”  I look up at him and find a glimmer of amusement in Nico’s eyes, mixed with something else.  I think he knows I’m trying to calm myself and I fidget in my seat on the couch as he stands there looking so unaffected.

Nico on Elle
I’m up at five a.m. every morning.  Well, every morning except today.  I slept like shit, my body a mass of pent-up frustration.   I kept my word all night.  Even though all I wanted to do was pick her up, carry her into my bedroom, and ram myself into her to claim her as mine.   Then she kissed me.  I know I could have taken it further after that kiss.   But I don’t want one night with Elle.  I want more.  I have no idea why, but I do.  A lot fucking more.

By the time I drove back home last night, I’d gotten myself under control.  I’d reasoned with my hard-on until it finally saw my way.  Who knew you could reason with a fucking hard-on.  I guess I never tried. I just took care of it, did what it wanted me to.

But then I walked into my loft and I smelled her.  And all reasoning went out the window.  I couldn’t sleep with a steel pipe in my pants, so I took a cold shower.  It didn’t help.   Then I was wide awake with a hard-on.  I tossed and turned with a picture of Elle smiling at me in my head.   Taunting me for being such a sap.

It didn’t matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she’s been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it’s boring…and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle’s office and everything changes…for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

Excerpt:  Angels in Leather

“Fight me, don’t you stop,” Axel breathes into my ear. “I won’t hurt you, Cricket,” he murmurs, running his finger down the side of my face. “But I need you to fight.”

So, that’s what I do.

I start by squirming, trying to twist my body around. He presses his body against mine, and reaches up, tangling his fingers into the fence. He thrusts his hips, ramming both out bodies harder into the wire. I groan, and throw my head back, hitting him in the face. He snarls, and takes my hands, quickly uncuffing me before pulling them harshly behind my back and jerking my body back into his.

I hear the cuffs drop onto the ground.

I guess he’s letting me play this fairly.

“Stop that,” he rasps into my ear. “I’ll make it hurt if you do that again.”

“Maybe I want it to hurt,” I hiss, fisting my hands together and shoving them backwards into his stomach.

He stumbles off me with a grunt, and I spin around, ducking to the left and attempting to run. I don’t get two steps before Axel lashes out, taking my ankle and pulling me so hard I go down into the dirt. My face just misses being smashed into it by mere centimeters. Axel flattens his body over mine, and takes my head in his hands, jerking my head back by my hair and breathing down on me. “You’re being a bad girl,” he husks, running a finger down the side of my face.

“You’re not letting me play fair,” I whisper. “I was cuffed before, it wasn’t a fair chase.”

I feel his weight lift off me, and he jerks me up, pulling me into a standing position.

“Run, then. I’ll give you five seconds, and if I catch you again, Meadow, I’m going to f**k you,” he murmurs, then his eyes grow lusty. “Hard.”
I turn without answering, and I run into the trees at the back of the lot. I hear Axel counting loudly, and my body shivers. I am sweating now, and my breathing is hard and ragged, but the chase is so worth that. I hear Axel take off after me, and I squeal with delight as I weave through the trees. It’s dark, but I can see enough because of the lights surrounding the club house.

“The minute I get hold of you,” Axel yells. “I’m goin’ to rip your panties down and put my d**k so deep inside you, you’re goin’ to scream.”
I shiver, and swallow. I make my way to the fence line again, and I press myself against it for a second, letting my eyes scan the trees.
“Then I’m goin’ to kiss you so hard your lips will bleed.”

Oh my.

I take off, using the fence line as a guide to get back to the other end of the lot. I can hear Axel to my left, and I know he’s gaining on me, but if I run, it’ll make a lot of noise and he’ll figure out where I am.

“Come out come out wherever you are,” he sings. “You know I’ll make you come so much your legs will give way.”

I feel a smile on my face as I keep moving along the fence, keeping my body plastered against it. I can feel my own arousal dampening my panties, and now I’m eager for him to get his hands on me. I want to know what he’s got to give.

“You can run, Cricket, but you can’t hide.”

Ever and Cade,

Sorry I vanished like I did. I'm not sure I can even explain
things. I don't know when I'll be back. IF I'll be back. I'm not sure of
anything, except that I love you, Ever. You're my twin, my best friend, and
leaving you was the hardest thing I've ever done. I know you don't understand.
Maybe you never will. I hope you don't, honestly. It would be easier that way.
That's cowardly, I'm sure.

Cade, take care of her. Love her, the way she deserves. The
way you always have, for forever and always.

If I could ask you anything, it's that you remember me as I
was, and forget me as I am.

I'm sorry, and goodbye, and I love you.

Reaper's Legacy Excerpt

Ruger hadn’t even touched me.

He still wasn’t touching me. I bit back a moan.

“But that’s probably not a real good idea,” he added, his voice cooling as he pulled back. “We both know it. Not what Noah needs and a fuckin’ tar pit for you and me, too. But your idea about hooking up with one of my brothers? That keeps runnin’ through my head, Soph, and then I start thinking about shootin’ people. I don’t want to have to shoot anyone tomorrow, get me? Shitty way to end a party. Not to mention the prez might get frustrated, one of the local brothers loses it in public with the whole fuckin’ club here for a meet.”

Holy crap.

I nodded, chest tightening.

“So, all things considered, you might think about doing exactly what I say at that fuckin’ party,” he said, and while he phrased it like a suggestion, it was a straight-up order. “I get that you don’t want someone like me in your bed, not as a keeper. Don’t want things to get weirder than they are between us, either. But if you’re gonna screw a biker, Soph, I’m the only one you get. I won’t stand by and let you fuck one of my brothers.”

“I can’t believe you just said all that,” I whispered. “That’s wrong on so many levels. I don’t even know where to start.”

He considered me, eyes hard, voice cold.

“I don’t care if it’s wrong,” he said. “That’s the way it is. My house, my world, my rules. Tell me you understand and I’ll let you go to the party.”

“I’m an adult,” I managed to say, although my voice shook. “You don’t get to tell me what to do.”

“And yet I’m doin’ it,” he returned, shrugging casually. “Do you really think I won’t enforce this? I’ll fuckin’ enforce it, Soph. Don’t test me.”

“I haven’t decided about the party,” I whispered. “But I’m done with this conversation. I’m going back downstairs.”

“No, you’re not,” he said, and that little, instinctive voice deep down inside me screaming to run finally won. I slid off the stool and made a break for the stairs. Big mistake, because Ruger caught me around the waist and lifted me up onto the kitchen bar, eyes blazing. Two seconds later he stepped into my legs, one hand pulling me in tight and the other twisting through my hair, jerking my head back.

“Let me go,” I whispered. He cocked his head, as if considering the idea, then slowly shook it.

“I can’t,” he said. Then his lips covered mine and a fuse blew in my brain.

“You want the freedom to sleep around. I'm not willing to give you that. I want more. Sounds like we have a fundamental difference of opinion here, and I'm not going to try and change you. But I'll tell you one thing, Ruger- I deserve to be with someone who gives a shit about me, as a person. Someone who values me enough not to fuck other women. I'd rather be alone the rest of my life than settle for what you're offering. Consider yourself a hell of a booty call, but that's it. We clear?”

Marie doesn’t need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother’s house one afternoon doesn’t agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.

But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she’s not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse—she doesn’t know his real name or where he lives, she’s ninety percent certain he’s a criminal and that the “business” he talks with her brother isn’t website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he’d just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.

Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she’s not interested in becoming “property of”.

Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants—at home, in public, on his bike… If she’s a very, very good girl, she’ll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he’ll let her brother live.
Maybe.

Em has lived her entire life in the shadow of the Reapers. Her overprotective father, Picnic, is the club’s president. The last time she had a boyfriend, Picnic shot him. Or so she thinks.

“When a man takes a woman as his property, it’s not about owning her,” he continued, eyes searching my face. “It’s about trusting her. This is my life I’m handing you, Sophie. Not just my life—my brothers’ lives, too. It means I’m responsible for everything you do. You fuck up, I’ll pay. You need help, we’re there. You’re the only woman I’ve ever met that I’d consider giving that kind of power to. Hell, I’m not just considering it, I’m desperate for you to take it.”
